The MAD160B-0150-SA-S2-RQ0-35-V1 is a 2 pole AC servo motor. This servo motor is designed to generate a high nominal torque of 185 Nm, which is equivalent to 18.5 kg of force for a distance of 1 meter—a considerable amount of force when it comes to using this motor for high torque robotics applications. The motor is designed for greater speeds of 1500 rpm when operating on rated conditions, but since this motor configuration comes with the V1 high-speed bearings, it can allow the motor to generate a speed of 6000 rpm.
This motor offers an IP 65 protection rating keeping the servo motor protected in the case of dust and low levels of moisture. The shaft of this motor is a full shaft key with a smooth design that is balanced with the key. The shaft, however, does not come with a shaft seal ring. The motor is designed to be operated under the temperature range between 0 to 45 degrees Celsius and comes with a 400-volt Axial blower fan to keep the temperatures below the overheating range allowing the motor to run efficiently and reduce overall losses in the motor coil.
To keep the motor in good condition, Rexroth recommends servicing the motor after every 20,000 cycles of use. Since the motor comes with very high-speed bearings, it is always recommended to replace them with a fresh pair once the motor reaches the 30,000 cycle mark in order to prevent performance degradation and to make sure the motor runs smoothly and efficiently. The motor also weighs around 80 kg making it a lightweight servo motor in the series considering other motor models in the MAC series can go all the way up to 150 kg.
