The MAD160B-0150-SA-S0-KH5-35-N1 from Rexroth Indramat is an Asynchronous AC servo motor that can provide a rotational torque of 185 Nm. The MAD160B servo motor is designed to provide high torque, high-speed configurations of motor which are particularly used in heavy-duty robotics such as part placement arms and packaging machines that require both considerable amounts of torque and speed to get things done at a much quicker pace which this motor configuration can provide much easily.
To help with temperature regulation in this motor, the MAD160B-0150-SA-S0-KH5-35-N1 comes with an Axial blower which is attached to the rear end of the motor that helps thrust in ambient air helping the coil cool down by allowing the air to circulate within the enclosure of the motor. This Axial blower has an operating voltage rating between 400 to 460 volts AC and its connection is provided inside the terminal box along with the motor connection placed on the rear of the motor. The placement of the terminal box at the rear is a strategic design choice as it allows the users to easily access this terminal box even when the motor is placed in a confined area.
This motor has an Ingress Protection rating of IP 65 which provides a level six protection rating against dust particles of up to 2 mm in size and a water protection of level 5 with a low-pressure water jet. The surface of this motor can endure scratches of up to 0.2 mm deep. To further protect the motor from damaging environmental factors, Rexroth has coated all of their MAD series of servo motors with black prime paint that prevents the motors from oxidizing resulting in corrosion.
