The MAD motor series is one of Rexroth’s most famous squirrel-cage asynchronous motors. Motors in the MAD family employ surface cooling primarily due to their powerful set of axial unit fans. Aside from the MAD series, the other type of squirrel-cage motor by Rexroth is the MAF family series, which is popular due to its liquid cooling. In terms of construction, features, and inclusions, however, the MAD and MAF motors share several striking similarities. Both motor series incorporate IP 65 protection and class F insulation to withstand even the most unfavorable operating environments. The compact construction of both of these motor series makes them ideal for servo and main spindle applications.
