Product Description:
The KSD071C-0240-NN-S1-1G0-NNNN is an integrated servo unit manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the KSD IndraDrive Mi Motors series. By combining a permanent-magnet synchronous motor with onboard inverter electronics, the device mounts directly on the machine frame and links to other Mi modules through a single hybrid cable. It supplies decentralized axis control in packaging lines, assembly cells, and other automation systems where cabinet space, wiring length, and response time must be minimized.
Under continuous duty, the motor delivers a shaft torque of 10.5 Nm with a stator current of 4.6 A while remaining within its temperature limits. The electromagnetic structure provides a torque constant of 2.52 Nm/A, allowing current-loop settings to be directly related to the expected torque output. A back-EMF constant of 155.0 V per 1,000 rpm indicates the voltage margin that the IndraDrive supply must provide to achieve rated speed without field weakening. Dynamic behavior is influenced by the rotor’s moment of inertia, and its low value of 0.00173 kg·m² supports rapid acceleration and short positioning cycles. The reduced inertia also helps limit settling time in contouring applications where the axis must respond quickly to changing motion commands.
For transient events, the unit can generate up to 35.0 Nm of torque, providing a ratio of approximately 3.3 to 1 over its continuous rating for overcoming static friction or indexing heavier loads. Generated heat is absorbed by the winding mass and housing with a thermal time constant of 15 minutes, allowing brief overloads before the temperature rises significantly. Shaft position is measured by an optical single-turn absolute encoder with a resolution of 1,048,576 counts per revolution. This fine feedback allows the drive to regulate position to fractions of a degree without external scales. The combination of high transient torque and precise feedback supports pick-and-place robots, feeder drives, and other precision axes that require high cycle rates and tight positional accuracy.
