Product Description:
The KSD071C-0100-NN-S1-1G0-NNNN from Bosch Rexroth Indramat is an integrated servo motor-drive unit in the KSD IndraDrive Mi Motors series. By embedding power electronics directly on the motor housing, it supports decentralized axis control in packaging machines, material-handling systems, and other automated equipment. The device accepts motion commands over the IndraDrive communication bus and supplies regulated torque and speed to a mechanical load. This arrangement reduces the need for long motor cables and permits tighter machine layouts.
The motor’s rotating assembly is balanced to Level A, limiting residual vibration and helping the bearings reach their rated service life. For consistent alignment during installation, the centering bore complies with DIN 332 Part 2 and has a DS M10 internal thread that accepts standard puller bolts. The mounting flange conforms to DIN 42948, and the frame uses the B5 construction style, allowing the unit to mount against a mating machine surface without feet. A shaft machined to the DIN 748 Part 3 profile transmits torque to couplings while maintaining the required runout limits. The shaft permits an axial load of up to 40 N, helping protect the encoder bearings from excessive thrust. A black RAL 9005 paint layer protects the aluminum housing from corrosion in indoor environments.
Thermal management relies on natural convection, so the unit does not require fans or liquid-cooling circuits. The mounting area must provide enough clearance for unrestricted airflow around the cooling fins. Position feedback is supplied by an optical encoder with a digital resolution of 1,048,576 counts per revolution. The encoder has single-turn absolute feedback, allowing it to report the shaft angle within one complete revolution without battery-backed multi-turn tracking. This feedback supports control loops that require an absolute position immediately after startup. During operation, the shaft can reach 1,000 rpm, a speed compatible with the control bandwidth of the integrated drive electronics.
