Product Description:
The KSD041C-0420-NN-M3-1P0-NNNN is an integrated servo motor with onboard drive electronics manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the KSD IndraDrive Mi Motors series. By combining the power stage and feedback interface inside the motor housing, it reduces cabinet wiring and provides distributed axis control for conveyors, packaging stations, and pick-and-place modules in industrial automation. The unit accepts real-time commands from the IndraDrive system bus and modulates phase current directly at the machine frame.
At standstill, the drive delivers a continuous current of 1.5 A, which produces a continuous stall torque of 2.2 Nm. With the indicated torque constant of 1.60 Nm/A, the controller can estimate motor torque accurately from measured phase current for closed-loop control. The direct relationship between current and torque supports current-based diagnostics during operation. Heat is removed only by natural convection, so airflow around the fins must remain unobstructed. All insulating materials are rated to Class 155, allowing winding temperatures up to 155 °C without degrading dielectric strength.
During short transients, the power stage can supply a maximum phase current of 6.8 A, enabling the rotor to generate up to 9.4 Nm of peak torque for rapid indexing or overcoming static friction. The lightweight rotor has a moment of inertia of 0.00017 kg·m², so acceleration and deceleration times remain low even under modest current limits. The low inertia, combined with the available peak torque, lets the axis reach its target speed quickly while keeping drive power consumption moderate. Position feedback is provided by a capacitive Hiperface multi-turn encoder that offers 16 signal periods per mechanical revolution, delivering absolute position data to the drive chain after power-up without a homing sequence.
