Product Description:
The KSD041C-0420-NN-M3-1G0-NNNN is an integrated servo motor from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the KSD IndraDrive Mi Motors series. It combines a permanent-magnet rotor, drive electronics, and a fieldbus interface in one housing, allowing motion axes to be placed directly on moving subassemblies without separate drive cabinets. Within an automation cell, the unit provides closed-loop rotary positioning and velocity control for pick-and-place heads, tool turrets, indexing stations, and similar motion applications.
The motor’s control loop can command shaft rotation at speeds up to 5500 rpm, supporting fast cycle times with light mechanical loads. Continuous electrical output is rated at 470 W, providing power for sustained operation. At zero speed, the drive develops a holding torque of 2.2 N·m, while peak dynamic events are handled by a maximum torque of 9.4 N·m. A peak phase current of 6.8 A is drawn from the shared DC bus during acceleration. Current-to-torque conversion follows a constant of 1.60 N·m/A, providing a linear relationship for current-loop control within the IndraDrive system. When the shaft is locked, the windings stabilize at a standstill current of 1.5 A, which limits resistive heating during static holding applications.
Mechanical response is influenced by a rotor inertia of 0.00017 kg·m², allowing quick reversals with limited overshoot. The complete assembly weighs 5.6 kg, reducing the added load when the motor is installed on moving gantries. The enclosure has an IP65 rating, protecting the motor against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets in packaging or food-processing equipment. A back-EMF slope of 98.2 V/1000 rpm supports the selection of intermediate circuit voltage and regenerative braking components. The stator reaches thermal equilibrium after approximately 13 minutes, providing a reference for evaluating overload duration and determining when duty-cycle adjustment may be necessary.
