Product Description:
The KSD041C-0420-NN-M1-1G0-NNNN is a brushless servo motor produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the KSD IndraDrive Mi Motors series. In automated production lines, this motor supplies tightly controlled rotational energy. It enables packaging heads, pick-and-place modules, and conveyor stations to reach commanded speeds, stop accurately, and maintain torque at standstill.
Its continuous standstill capability reaches 2.2 Nm, so the shaft can hold static loads without overheating. For short accelerations, the motor supplies a maximum torque of 9.4 Nm. That peak is supported by a drive section that can deliver up to 6.8 A of phase current before reaching its thermal limit. The electromagnetic design provides a torque constant of 1.60 Nm/A, allowing the drive to translate commanded current directly into expected torque. Position data come from an optical multi-turn encoder that delivers 1,048,576 counts/rev, enabling sub-arc-minute interpolation. The enclosure is rated at IP65, blocking dust ingress and withstanding low-pressure water jets so the unit can be mounted on open machine frames without auxiliary enclosures.
The multi-turn encoder tracks 4096 turns, allowing absolute position recovery after power loss across multiple mechanical revolutions. Mechanical integration uses an 82 mm square flange, which aligns with common gearbox and bracket patterns, while a 50 mm pilot centers the housing. The keyed steel shaft measures 14 mm in diameter and can be coupled through standard clamping hubs. The overall length is 252 mm, providing a compact package for the motor’s output capacity. The assembly weighs 5.5 kg, making it suitable for mounting on moving gantries while providing enough mass to damp minor vibrations. Its flange, pilot, shaft, length, and mass must be considered when selecting mounting hardware and calculating the inertia, stiffness, and payload of the connected servomechanism.
