Product Description:
The KNK03.1A-NR-A0008-P-U226-A4-NNNN is a mains filter with an integrated mains choke produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the KNK Mains Filters series. It is installed between three-phase power supplies and regenerative drive controllers to attenuate conducted interference and limit inrush current. Within an automation cabinet, it provides the line conditioning needed to support electromagnetic compatibility requirements for regenerative motion axes. The integrated choke works with the filter section to reduce line disturbance before it reaches the supply network.
This filter carries a nominal line current rating of 8.1 A, so upstream protective devices and cable sizing can be selected for that continuous load. It accepts an input range of 3× AC 380 V -10% to 3× AC 500 V +10%, allowing the same part to be used on 400 V or 460 V factory grids. Reactive suppression is supported by a leakage capacitance of 226 nF, which diverts high-frequency common-mode noise away from the drive system. When used with shielded motor cables, the assembly meets Category C3 according to DIN 61800-3, which is intended for industrial environments with dedicated transformer feeds and professional installation. All conductive parts are housed in an enclosure rated IP65, so dust ingress and low-pressure water jets do not compromise filtering performance.
The unit relies on natural convection through an external heat sink, so it must be mounted on a conductive backplate to remove thermal losses generated by the integrated choke. Because cooling is passive, the mounting surface plays a direct role in heat dissipation during continuous operation. It is intended for regenerative devices only, and it smooths both motoring and generating current without an auxiliary fan. For applications that follow the manufacturer's standard application guidelines, design 1 uses dimensions shared across the KNK family's Series 3 products.
