Product Description:
The KMS03.1B-B036-P-D7-ET-END-SD-ES-FW is a near-motor servo drive manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the KMS Electronic Drives series. Positioned directly on the machine frame, it supplies regulated three-phase power to compact synchronous motors while exchanging status and diagnostic data with the central controller. By eliminating a long motor cable, this arrangement reduces conducted EMI and supports decentralized industrial automation lines that favor a modular, cabinet-free architecture.
The unit relies on a Thermal Interface cooling concept, transferring heat through its base plate into adjoining metal surfaces instead of using an air blower. A shared DC link rated at 750 V DC delivers energy to the internal inverter stage and allows regenerative power to flow back to the plant bus. Four local control points are provided by 4 digital I/O channels, so proximity sensors or pneumatic valves can be wired without additional junction boxes. Network integration is handled by Multi-Ethernet hardware that supports PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, or EtherCAT. The cast-aluminum housing meets IP65 protection, which means it is dust-tight and resistant to low-pressure water jets during washdown procedures.
For sub-millisecond reactions, the drive includes 2 quick inputs that bypass cyclic fieldbus updates and trigger motion events directly inside the drive. Integrated functional safety is delivered through the Safe Motion option, allowing safe limited speed or torque functions without external contactors. The unit is design version 1 and belongs to series code 03. A combined Hiperface and digital encoder interface supports single-turn or multi-turn feedback, and the Basic performance level is intended for standard point-to-point positioning. An auxiliary Multi-Ethernet port remains available for supervisory diagnostics and higher-level communication.
