Product Description:
The KMS02.1B-A018-P-D7-ET-ENH-SD-WT-FW is a near-motor servo drive built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the KMS Electronic Drives series. Version 1 is part of design generation 02 and carries the Basic performance level. Mounted close to the motor, the unit combines power conversion, feedback processing through a Hiperface encoder interface, and integrated Safe Motion functions in one housing. It is intended for machine-mounted use where compact placement and short cable routes are important. The close-coupled layout also keeps drive functions near the axis instead of inside a central control cabinet.
The drive supplies up to 5.8 A of continuous phase current for servo motors that require sustained torque without thermal overload. Its nominal power output is 2.2 kW, and the internal DC link operates at 750 V DC with a 0.02 mF capacitor bank for energy storage. That capacitor bank supports short-term energy buffering during changing load conditions. The output voltage is regulated at 0.71 × UDC, and the switching stage generates edge transitions of 5.00 kV/µs, so shielded cabling is recommended to limit electromagnetic noise. For short acceleration demands, the unit can momentarily source up to 18 A, while a 25 A bypass path diverts energy away from sensitive components.
Field installation is supported by an IP65 housing that resists dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, allowing the electronics to sit directly on the machine frame. With a mass of 2.50 kg, the module adds little weight to moving axes and is easier to place close to the load. Cooling is handled by natural convection, so no fan is needed to move heat away from the housing. The master communication interface is Multi-Ethernet, allowing connection to EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, or EtherCAT networks from the same unit. This supports decentralized installations where cabinet space is limited and the axis hardware is mounted directly on the machine.
