Product Description:
The KMS02.1B-A018-P-D7-ET-ENH-SD-WE-FW is a near-motor servo drive manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the KMS Electronic Drives series. Installed directly on the machine frame, it reduces line losses and simplifies wiring in modular automation cells. The device handles closed-loop torque, speed, and position control for synchronous servomotors and exchanges real-time data with the plant controller through its Multi-Ethernet master communication port. Because the drive is mounted close to the motor, cable lengths stay short and distributed machine sections can be connected with less panel-side wiring.
The drive operates from a DC link of 750 Volt DC and can be supplied by a shared bus at DC 540…750 V. Internal capacitance smooths this link, while the power stage switches at selectable 4 kHz and 8 kHz carrier frequencies to support either lower acoustic noise or faster current response. At the 4 kHz setting, it can deliver a continuous armature current of 17.7 A and produce output frequencies from 0…400 Hz. Peak acceleration events are supported by a maximum bypass current of 25 A, and integrated Safe Motion functions support category-based safety requirements without external relays. Its basic performance level also keeps parameter handling concise during setup.
Thermal management relies on natural convection, so the housing dissipates up to 50.00 W without forced airflow when the surrounding air remains within 0…40 °C. A sealed enclosure with an ingress rating of IP65 protects the electronics against dust and low-pressure water jets, allowing cabinet-free installation near actuators. With a rated input current of 7.3 A and a maximum phase current of 18 A, the unit balances efficiency and dynamic capability, while the angular connector option supports compact cable routing in tight machine spaces. Cabinet-free placement also helps when installation space around the actuator is limited.
