Product Description:
The KMS02.1B-A018-P-D7-ET-ENH-NN-ES-FW is a near-motor servo drive from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the KMS Electronic Drives series. Version 1 mounts directly on moving axes, which shortens the cable path between the inverter and motor. In an automation cell, it regulates torque and speed through a DC link so decentralized positioning can be used without a full cabinet drive. The unit is in Series 02 and has a basic performance level suited to medium-duty pick-and-place tables, packaging machinery, and similar motion sequences.
The drive can deliver a peak phase current of 18 A, giving it extra capacity for short acceleration bursts before returning to its rated input current of 7.3 A during continuous operation. Motion energy is exchanged across a shared link held at 750 V DC, which supports fast response while keeping power distribution compact. A DC-bus capacitance of 0.02 mF stores charge to smooth ripple and support the unit during regenerative intervals. The control electronics draw only 17.5 W, so the auxiliary supply demand remains low when several drives are connected in the same system. Thermal losses are limited under nominal conditions, which helps control enclosure temperature rise and reduces stress on the semiconductors.
The aluminum housing is rated IP65, so dust and low-pressure water jets do not interfere with operation when the drive is mounted near conveyors or robot wrists. Heat is removed by natural convection, which avoids the use of fans and helps keep airborne contamination out of the housing. Position feedback from servo motors is handled through a Hiperface encoder port, while command and diagnostic data are exchanged through a Multi-Ethernet connection that supports several industrial protocols. Insulated-gate drivers limit dv/dt to 5.00 kV/µs, which helps reduce stress on motor windings. A 25 A bypass path also allows energy to flow around the stage during service modes.
