Product Description:
The KMS02.1B-A018-P-D7-ET-ENA-SD-ES-FW is a near-motor servo drive built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the KMS Electronic Drives series. Acting as a decentralized amplifier, it mounts beside the motor on the machine frame and operates as part of a distributed motion system. By placing the power electronics close to the axis, the unit shortens cable runs and helps keep wiring compact in automated assembly, packaging, and handling stations. This layout can also reduce electrical noise associated with long motor leads.
Electrical energy is supplied through a regulated bus at 750 V DC, which is buffered by a 0.02 mF capacitor bank to help limit transient voltage sag during rapid torque changes. The input side draws 7.3 A under rated conditions, and 50.00 W of internal loss is released through passive fins, so natural convection cooling is sufficient. The housing is sealed to IP65 to help keep dust and low-pressure water jets away from the internal electronics. Its effective capacitance of 118 nF + 100 nF provides a path for high-frequency leakage current, and the Basic performance level suits applications that do not require extended motion functions.
The power section supports a continuous current limit of 18 A, a pulse-width-modulated current ceiling of 17.7 A, and a bypass channel rated for 25 A when the main converter is bridged. During supply faults, the power electronics can withstand a fault current of 42,000 A rms, and the output stages tolerate a differential voltage slope of 5.00 kV/µs without partial discharge in the cable insulation. Control data is transmitted through two M12 connectors that support Multi-Ethernet communication, while an ACUROlink encoder interface returns position data to the master. The Safe Motion option adds integrated monitoring for safety circuits, and the unit is series 02 with design version 1.
