Mounted directly beside the actuator, it supplies regulated three-phase power from a common DC link and keeps the motor connection path short. Its role in industrial automation is to execute precise current and velocity loops for decentralized axes, where local drive placement helps reduce cable routing complexity and supports responsive motion. This layout is suited to machines that distribute drive functions along moving sections instead of concentrating every power stage inside a central cabinet.
