The KDS1.1-100-W1 is a servo drive module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the KDS Servo Drive Modules series. The unit forms the power interface between a supply module and synchronous or induction servo motors, handling energy conversion and fault supervision inside multi-axis machinery. Its function in an automation cell is to meter regenerated energy, apply controlled current to the motor windings, and report operational status back to the higher-level controller.

The drive delivers a continuous output current of 93 A, enabling sustained torque for motors with high thermal load capacity. That current is backed by a continuous power limit of 30 kW, which is the amount of power the module can process without derating when cabinet temperature is stable. Semiconductor switching and transformer losses generate an internal dissipation of 150 W, and an additional 400 W is removed by the external heat-sink assembly. These values help determine cabinet airflow and overall heat load. With a protection classification of IP 10 and insulation category C, the module must be installed in an enclosed cabinet that blocks debris and maintains creepage distances. The auxiliary +24 V rail draws only 50 mA, so the control supply can come from a small DIN-rail source.

Thermal management is supported by an operating ceiling of 55 °C and a mounting altitude not exceeding 1000 m; beyond either limit, the current must be reduced to stay within semiconductor junction limits. The drive section weighs 15.2 kg, while its detachable fan cartridge adds 4.2 kg, so the mounting arrangement must support roughly twenty kilograms on the DIN rail and bus bars. Control wiring is light: the ready and over-temperature relays both switch 24 V at 1 A, the −15 V logic rail sinks 50 mA, the +15 V rail draws 140 mA, and the high-current +24 V signal line requires 1.45 A for gate drivers and diagnostics.
