The Bosch Rexroth Indramat KDS 1.3-100-300-W1 is a servo drive module in the KDS Servo Drive Modules series. Serving as an inverter stage between the DC bus of a supply unit and connected servo motors, it modulates current and voltage to match dynamic load demands. In multi-axis machining centers, pick-and-place gantries, and conveyor systems, the module supplies controlled motor energy so that positioning, velocity, and torque commands issued by the higher-level controller are executed precisely and repeatably.

The drive outputs a continuous motor current of 93 A, permitting sustained operation at heavy load without thermal derating. That current corresponds to a continuous electrical power capability of 30 kW, matching medium-size servo axes such as spindle drives. Energy is taken from a shared DC bus maintained at 300 VDC, so the module must be paired with supply units in the same voltage class. Forced ventilation draws cooling air across the heat sink. Of the heat losses, 400 W are dissipated externally through the attached blower, while an additional 150 W are released inside the cabinet. Logic and sensing circuits consume 1,450 mA from the +24 V control rail, ensuring gate drive and signal processing even when the main power stage is idle.

During acceleration or short overloads, the current may rise to 100 A, a peak value that also serves as the rated limit for protective sizing of cables and fuses. The aluminum chassis carries an IP10 rating, so it must be installed inside a closed control cabinet while still receiving airflow from the integral fan, which adds 4.2 kg to the assembly. The main module on its own weighs 15.2 kg, and the mechanical mounting set contributes another 1.7 kg. Installation is allowed up to 1000 m above sea level without output reduction, after which derating curves apply.
