Product Description:
The IKS4043 is an encoder feedback cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the IKS Encoder Cables series. It links the motion controller to an MKD motor terminal box, carrying differential position signals and auxiliary supply lines used by the motor encoder. In industrial automation the cable provides a protected yet flexible channel so moving axes can transmit positional data to the cabinet without interruption, supporting accurate closed-loop drive operation.
The cable is qualified for 5,000,000 bending cycles, a fatigue rating that supports continuous motion in energy chains. When routed permanently it can be fixed in place with a minimum bend of 5 × D, while dynamic installations require at least 7.5 × D to prevent conductor strain. A Total Shield of copper braid and foil surrounds every core and is bonded to the controller through the metallic backshell of the D-Sub (15-pin) plug, limiting electromagnetic interference. Pin contacts occupy all fifteen positions, and the housing is grounded; the PUR jacket withstands chain torsion and confirms the cable for drag-chain use.
Two axis-oriented cabinet reliefs set in the backshell guide the cable out at 2 × 45°, allowing tight routing toward ducting. The outer sheath is colored Orange (RAL 2003) so maintenance staff can identify feedback wiring at a glance. At the motor end the conductors terminate on a Clamp Terminal (10-pin) strip inside the MKD interface, and the braid is bonded to the housing with a Ring Lug to complete the shield path. The arrangement avoids connector bulk while retaining full 360-degree shielding and completes the signal chain without soldering or crimp contacts at the motor.
