Product Description:
The IKS0374 encoder cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the IKS Encoder Cables series. It links motor-mounted feedback devices to drive controllers in industrial automation, carrying incremental or absolute position signals alongside supply power. The assembly is pre-terminated, allowing fast installation and consistent signal integrity between an M23 feedback socket on the motor side and a panel-mounted D-Sub receptacle on the control cabinet side. Its mechanical layout suits drag-chain routing in machine tools and packaging lines.
The cable core is rated for 5 million bending cycles, so it maintains impedance and conductor integrity in continuous-flex applications. An overall diameter of 8.8 mm keeps the bundle compact while still allowing the inclusion of a Total Shield that encloses all pairs to suppress electromagnetic interference between the encoder and the drive. On the motor end, a M23 12-Pin (Socket) connector with Pol Pattern E mates directly with the feedback port; on the controller end a D-Sub 15-Pin plug is provided, and its molded backshell is angled at 2 × 45° to ease cable exit inside tight cabinets. The control pair contains 4 twisted, individually shielded pairs of 0.25 mm² conductors, and two 1.0 mm² supply leads are included for sensor power.
To support drag-chain installation, the minimum static bend radius is 5 × D, and the dynamic radius is 7.5 × D. The outer jacket is made from PUR, giving abrasion resistance and oil tolerance, and it is supplied in the high-visibility RAL 2003 (Orange) color for easy routing checks. Conductors may operate at temperatures up to 80 °C without degrading insulation. The double-ended outlet on the controller side (2 × 45°) reduces stress on the terminations during axis motion. Combined with the 2 × 1.0 mm² supply pair and the 4 × (2 × 0.25 mm²) signal cores, the cable supports both incremental encoders and EnDat-style absolute interfaces while maintaining stable electrical parameters across the full flex life.
