Product Description:
The IKS0308 is an encoder feedback cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the IKS Encoder Cables series. It serves as the link between motor-mounted measuring systems and Rexroth drive controllers, transmitting position and speed signals in automated machine axes. The cable is built for continuous motion in drag-chain environments, combining mechanical flexibility with electrical integrity so that differential encoder pairs remain resistant to external noise and vibration.
The conductors use a Class 6 extra-fine-stranded construction, which lets the cable withstand tight bending radii without strand breakage. On the controller end, a 12-pin round screw socket provides keyed mating that resists accidental uncoupling during machine vibration. The conductor layout is 4x2x0.25 mm² + 2x1.0 mm², so four twisted signal pairs carry differential channels while the two larger cores supply encoder power. In total, there are 10 cores, arranged to keep impedance consistent over the full cable length. An overall copper braid shield encloses every pair to limit electromagnetic interference, and the cable’s outer diameter remains only 8.8 mm, which helps route bundles through narrow energy-chain separators without exceeding fill ratios.
The outer sheath is made of PUR, a material chosen for abrasion resistance and compatibility with coolants and cutting oils covered by the EN 60811-2-1 test. When exposed to flame, the jacket meets the EN 60332-1-2 retardancy requirement, preventing dripping or sustained combustion inside electrical cabinets. Continuous operation is allowed up to 80 °C in both fixed and flexible use, while storage down to −50 °C and dynamic motion to −30 °C cover most industrial conditions. Electrical insulation is rated for 300 V, matching typical encoder supply limits and providing margin against induced transients.
