Product Description:
The IKS0305 cable is supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the IKS Encoder Cables series. Intended for feedback loops between servo motors and their drive controllers, the assembly routes differential position signals and supply voltages without introducing jitter or crosstalk. Its mechanical design tolerates repetitive motion on gantries, pick-and-place axes, and transfer lines, allowing reliable closed-loop control in automated manufacturing cells where accurate positional data is critical for cycle-time consistency. The cable acts as a passive but essential link in the motion-control chain.
The internal wiring follows a 2 × 1.0 mm² + 4 × 2 × 0.25 mm² configuration, separating power cores from four twisted signal pairs so that encoder channels remain resistant to common-mode noise. An overall diameter of 8.8 mm keeps the bundle compact enough for energy chains while leaving space for individual insulation layers. During dynamic travel, the cable may flex to a radius of 10 times the cable diameter without exceeding conductor strain limits, and its PUR outer jacket resists oil, abrasion, and coolant splashes. Sensors can be distributed along machine frames because the insulation system withstands up to 300 V during normal service, providing ample capacity for common 24 V encoder supplies and induced transients.
For flex-rated installations, the polymer insulation endures cyclic heating up to +80 °C, while stationary cable runs may operate continuously at +90 °C without softening the jacket. Cold-start suitability extends down to −30 °C, so the cable can be installed in unheated plants and retain its elasticity during power-up. A static bend radius of five times the cable diameter supports tight routing inside control cabinets, and the RAL 2003 orange sheathing increases visibility during maintenance. The cable has a dielectric test voltage of 500 V, which supports insulation integrity and adequate clearance between its internal conductors.
