Product Description:
The IKS0103 encoder cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the IKS Encoder Cables series. It is intended for servo-axis installations where an encoder on the motor must transmit precise position data to the drive controller during continuous motion. The cable integrates into industrial automation systems by routing feedback signals and auxiliary control voltages between the motor housing and cabinet-mounted electronics. It can follow the same dynamic path as the power leads in a drag chain, helping keep moving cable runs organized within the machine.
This assembly is supplied in a length of 10.0 m and withstands up to 5 million bending cycles, supporting repetitive travel without conductor fatigue. A total shield made of tinned-copper braid and foil protects low-level encoder pulses from ambient electromagnetic noise. The controller end terminates in an INS0760 D-Sub connector with 15 controller-side contacts, matching typical feedback boards. Because the cable is suitable for drag chains, its PUR jacket remains flexible and abrasion-resistant when guided through carriers. Inside, the conductors follow bulk cable type REG0013 and are arranged so the motor-side INS0672 plug provides 10 labeled terminals for encoder power, signals, and reference connections. Static routing permits a minimum bend radius of 5 × D, while properly supported horizontal cable travel can reach up to 15 m.
The cable has a halogen-free construction to limit corrosive gas release during an electrical fault, and its outer sheath is colored RAL 2003 (orange) for quick identification alongside motor power lines. Dynamic loops may be formed with a minimum flexible radius of 7.5 × D, helping prevent dielectric stress during acceleration. The rated control-wire potential is 300 V, allowing the same cable trunk to carry encoder supply and low-power brake signals. The PUR jacket resists coolants and oils commonly found around industrial machinery. Its internal connection arrangement supports standard Hiperface or resolver pinouts without requiring field modification.
