Product Description:
The IKS0056 is an encoder feedback cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the IKS Encoder Cables series. It provides the electrical link between position-sensing devices and drive controllers so that velocity and position data reach motion processors without loss or delay. The cable is intended for dynamic routing inside machine tools, packaging equipment, and automated handling axes where repeated movement places mechanical stress on every conductor and shield layer.
This model is rated for 2,000,000 bending cycles, indicating a service life suitable for drag-chain installations that experience constant reciprocation. When clamped in a fixed run, the minimum bend radius is 5 × D; in freely moving sections, it must follow a wider arc of 7.5 × D to prevent conductor fatigue. The outer jacket is made of PUR, providing resistance to cutting oils and abrasion while retaining flexibility. The overall diameter measures 8.7 mm, so standard clamping sleeves and grommets can seal the entry point without requiring hardware adapters. Inside the jacket, two shielded twisted pairs of 0.25 mm² control cores and a separate pair of 0.5 mm² supply cores maintain impedance balance for differential encoder signals and power.
A continuous foil and braid form the cable’s total shield, suppressing electromagnetic interference that could corrupt sine-cosine or incremental pulses. Safe operation extends down to -30 °C for fixed routing, while the cable remains stable up to +80 °C under static or flexing conditions. These temperature limits accommodate machine enclosures that cycle between washdown and production conditions. The supply conductors have a cross-sectional area of 2 × 0.5 mm², limiting voltage drop over long runs while keeping the bundle compact. Storage temperatures mirror the operating limits, allowing spare reels to remain in unconditioned service areas without degrading the insulation or shield integrity.
