IKO Fibre Optic Cables

The IKO Fibre Optic Cables series is a range of plastic fibre optic cables for Rexroth connection systems, designed for SERCOS-compatible signal transmission in machine and control applications.

The series includes ready-to-attach cable assemblies in 2.2 mm and 6.0 mm diameters, with the smaller version intended for control-cabinet or in-unit routing and the larger version intended for routing in the machine area, cable channels, and trailing cable installations. The cables use plastic optical fibre with a 1.0 mm core, FSMA connector systems, and a metal-free construction that avoids grounding and crosstalk issues while also resisting external electromagnetic interference. Depending on the cable type, the series is specified with different mechanical limits for bend radius, tensile strength, lateral pressure resistance, and cyclic bending, as well as operating temperature ranges up to 70 °C or 85 °C and specific attenuation values below 0.2 dB/m for the standard plastic cable types. The IKO Fibre Optic Cables series is intended for industrial optical links where controlled routing, defined attenuation limits, and reliable short- to medium-length fibre interconnections are required.
