The IKG4181 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the IKG Motor Power Cables series. It bundles three-phase power conductors and auxiliary control cores in a single flexible assembly that links a cabinet-mounted servo drive to a moving synchronous motor. The product supplies electrical energy and low-level control signals along the full travel of linear axes. By integrating these paths under one sheath, it reduces connector count, simplifies installation, and supports high-speed automation such as palletizers, gantry axes, and packaging machinery.
It endures 5,000,000 bending cycles in continuous-flex service, making it suitable for high-duty energy chains. An outer diameter of 25.5 mm provides a reference for minimum bend radius calculations and clamp selection during cable-chain layout. The power bundle contains 4 × 16.0 mm² (3 + PE) conductors, enabling the line to carry inverter output at a nominal rating of 300/500 V. Four separate 1.5 mm² control cores share the sheath and handle control-level signals up to 300/300 V. Impact and chemical resistance are provided by a PUR (adhesion-free and matte) jacket, which also slides easily against carrier links. Drag-chain compatibility helps reduce mechanical wear during repeated movement. The halogen-free insulation mixture reduces smoke toxicity in the event of a fire.
Electrical losses are limited by a loop resistance of 1.21 Ω/km, allowing distant motors to receive adequate voltage without requiring a larger drive. At switching frequencies typical of servo amplifiers, a capacitance of 1.2 nF/m determines the charging current that the inverter must supply. Quick visual tracing is possible because the sheath is colored RAL 2003 (orange), a standard safety color used in European machinery. The cable geometry supports flexible routing through long-stroke linear axes. Its electrical characteristics help maintain stable power delivery and control signal transmission during continuous movement.
