The IKG0250 cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the IKG Motor Power Cables series. It functions as a motor power lead that delivers three-phase energy and auxiliary control cores between the drive and moving servo motors. In robotic cells and gantry axes, the cable is routed through drag chains, so its design balances continuous flex life with stable electrical parameters.
Its mechanical endurance reaches 5,000,000 bending cycles when installed correctly and the minimum dynamic loop is a 7.5 × D bending radius. The main copper conductors provide a 16.0 mm² conductor cross-section, and the loop resistance at 20 °C is limited to 1.21 Ω/km conductor resistance. These values minimise voltage drop on medium-length runs to high-current motors. Transmission characteristics are also influenced by a line-to-line capacitance of 1.2 nF/m capacitance, a figure that must be considered when sizing output filters or grouping cables in metal trays.
The outer sheath is a PUR jacket that is adhesion-free and matte, providing abrasion and oil resistance while allowing easy separation from adjacent hoses. Fast visual identification is aided by its RAL 2003 orange colour. The cable measures a 25.5 mm outer diameter, which determines clamp and gland selection, and its copper conductors can run continuously up to 90 °C without insulation degradation. Two shielded pairs of 1.5 mm² are included for brake or sensor circuits, the compound is halogen-free to reduce corrosive emissions in a fire, and the overall construction is approved for drag-chain installation.
