The IKG0159 cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the IKG Motor Power Cables series. It is a flexible motor power lead intended for servo and induction drives in automated machinery, routing three-phase power from cabinet-mounted inverters to moving axes or fixed motors on the production line. Its mechanical flexibility and industrial insulation system help maintain stable voltage delivery during continuous motion. Consistent conductor geometry minimizes electrical losses and supports dependable operation in positioning and speed-control applications.
For continuous drag-chain service, the cable is rated for 5,000,000 flexing cycles without conductor breakage. During movement, it permits a minimum bend radius of 10 times the cable’s outer diameter, which reduces the required carrier width in compact machines. Each copper core is insulated with TPE insulation, a thermoplastic elastomer that remains pliable under heat and resists cutting. A PUR outer jacket protects the conductors from coolant splashes, mineral oil, and machining debris while remaining halogen-free to limit corrosive gases during a fire. In fixed installations, the assembly maintains its electrical and mechanical properties at temperatures up to +80 °C, helping prevent enclosure heat from compromising insulation integrity. Its abrasion and oil resistance also support installation near hydraulic manifolds and welded frames.
Cold-room conveyors and outdoor handling units can use the cable because it tolerates storage and fixed installation at temperatures down to -50 °C. When installed permanently, the cable permits a minimum bend radius of 6 times its outer diameter without exceeding the strain limits of the conductor bundle. A concentric shield made from tinned copper braid attenuates electromagnetic noise and provides a low-impedance grounding path for connected drive equipment. The orange RAL 2003 sheath makes the power cable easy to distinguish from signal lines in crowded cable trays. The jacket also helps protect the internal conductors where the route is exposed to industrial chemicals, repeated contact, or airborne debris.
