To ensure a space saving arrangement, this brake resistor can be installed directly above the HSC03 converters.

The HLR01.1N-17K0-N01R2-A-007-NNNU is capable of rheostatic as well as regenerative braking. During rheostatic braking, the motor’s kinetic energy is converted to electrical energy during deceleration. The electrical energy is instantly dissipated as heat in the brake resistor. During regenerative braking mode, the electrical energy is fed back into the power supply unit and the energy consumption is reduced. An efficient cooling mechanism has been installed in this device to cater to the large amount of heat that is generated during instant deceleration. The HSC03 converter's extracted airflow is used for cooling the brake resistor through forced convection. This model has a brake resistance of 1.2 ohms and a braking power duration of 17 kW.
