The DM 8K 9301-D is a servo drive module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and allocated to the DM Servo Drives series. Designed to govern synchronous and induction motors in automated machinery, the unit conditions DC-link energy and modulates output current according to bus commands. It fits into narrow cabinet slots and exchanges motion commands on a CANopen fieldbus, allowing centralized PLCs to handle start, stop, and speed control without integrated positioning functions. Because positioning tasks remain at the controller level, the drive is used primarily for regulated motor operation within distributed automation systems.

During operation, the drive draws 0.89 A from the 24 V control supply to energize logic, relays, and resolver excitation. Its regulated DC link sits at 670 VDC, from which the inverter section delivers a rated phase current of 5.7 A rms at a 4 kHz pulse-width modulation carrier and 3.6 A rms at an 8 kHz carrier. Thermal limits are linear, and each additional kelvin above the reference requires derating of 0.15 A/K at 4 kHz or 0.10 A/K at 8 kHz. A resolver interface with 12-bit resolution supplies rotor position feedback, while the higher-level motion controller issues velocity or torque setpoints through the CAN bus. Compatibility with CANopen and CANrho supports communication with other Rexroth nodes on the same network structure. The aluminum housing occupies 50 mm of panel width and weighs 6.0 kg, allowing several axes to be mounted side by side without excessive cabinet loading. Rack cooling typically uses forced air when carrier frequency and ambient temperature are selected in line with the derating curves.
