The DM 8K 8001-D is a servo drive module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the DM Servo Drives series. Designed for mounting inside electrical cabinets, the unit rectifies three-phase mains voltage and supplies a controlled DC link to downstream inverters that energize servo or induction motors. Within automated lines, it acts as the power stage that follows motion commands, translating speed or torque setpoints from a controller into accurate motor excitation for positioning, transport, or machining tasks.

The drive accepts a three-phase nominal input of 400 VAC and, when connected to the common DC bus, draws up to 6 A DC. Inside the housing, a converter maintains a regulated bus of 670 VDC, while under unrestricted operating conditions the link can rise to 715 VDC. The power section delivers a continuous phase current of 2.4 A to the motor terminals, which is suitable for small-frame axes that need moderate torque. An enclosure rating of IP20 permits safe finger access but requires installation in a protected cabinet. The unit relies on U/f control, so voltage follows frequency without vector regulation, and because no encoder interface is provided, the motor feedback channel must be handled elsewhere. This product variant does not include additional functions.

Operation is permitted up to 45 °C, and above this point the output current must be derated at 0.1 A/K. Altitudes up to 1000 m are permitted without further adjustment, after which cooling or current reduction is required. The electronics dissipate 96.5 W at full load, so cabinet airflow must accommodate this heat. Control logic and auxiliaries consume 0.89 A from the external 24 V supply. In service, the drive receives setpoints through a 10-bit analog interface that offers 1024 discrete command levels. Storage is permitted up to 70 °C, provided humidity and dust are controlled.
