The DM 4K 7301-D is a servo drive module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DM Servo Drives series. It converts shared DC-link energy into controlled three-phase output, allowing closed-loop torque, speed, or position regulation of connected motors in packaging lines, handling robots, or machining centers. With its modular design, the unit installs beside other DM axes, sharing cooling air and backplane wiring to keep cabinet layouts compact and to simplify integration in multi-axis cabinets.

The power section is fed by a nonregulated bus of 715 VDC that is smoothed to a regulated rail of 670 VDC for the IGBT stage. At a 4 kHz switching frequency, the continuous current rating is 1.4 Arms, while operation at 8 kHz limits the rating to 0.8 Arms to account for higher switching losses. Peak demand remains 6.6 Arms at either frequency, giving identical overload capability for rapid acceleration. Thermal load must be reduced if the heat sink temperature rises, so the current derates by 0.15 A per kelvin at the lower switching frequency and 0.10 A per kelvin at the higher switching frequency. The control electronics draw 0.89 A from the 24 V service supply, which supports the internal logic and interface circuits.

The drive’s enclosure carries a protection rating of IP20, making it suitable for installation inside a closed control cabinet that meets EN 60721-3-3 climatic category 3K3. Its module width is only 50 mm, aiding high-density mounting, and the mass of 6.0 kg allows easier handling during installation. Continuous operation is specified up to 1000 m altitude without output reduction, and mechanical shocks up to 15 g can be tolerated during transport or brief plant disturbances. Waste heat of 96.5 W must be removed by forced convection through the cabinet airflow path.
