The DM 4K 3101-D is a single-axis servo drive module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the DM Servo Drives series. It serves as the power and control interface between a motion controller and a synchronous or asynchronous servomotor, converting DC link energy into regulated stator currents for precise position, speed, and torque control on automated machinery. The module is intended for cabinet-mounted motion systems where compact size and direct integration with existing drive electronics are important. Because it is a single-axis unit, it is well suited to indexing stations, feeders, and handling axes that require dedicated closed-loop control. It works with the controller to maintain stable motion during speed changes and load variation.

The drive uses an air-cooled design for panel mounting inside control cabinets. Its housing is only 50 mm wide, which supports dense placement beside related modules. The narrow enclosure also leaves room for cable routing and neighboring power electronics in shallow cabinets. Power is drawn from a DC bus of 670 VDC. Continuous motor excitation is supported with a rated phase current of 4.0 Arms at 4 kHz switching, while the internal command interface processes analog setpoints with a resolution of 12 bits. The unit also accepts position feedback through a standard encoder interface, and the auxiliary logic circuits draw 0.89 A from the 24 V control supply.

For intermittent overloads, the drive can supply a peak channel current of 6.6 Arms at 8 kHz to support short acceleration demands. Under those conditions, internal losses are limited to 96.5 W, and current derating begins at a slope of 0.1 A/K above the reference cabinet temperature. This operating range allows short torque bursts without treating the overload level as a continuous duty point. The module has a mass of 6.0 kg. It is supplied without additional functional options, so external equipment must provide higher-level safety or fieldbus functions when those features are required.
