The DM 4K 1101-D is a servo drive manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DM Servo Drives series. It operates as the axis amplifier in multi-axis automation, converting DC bus energy into regulated motor phase currents while exchanging motion commands over a SERCOS fiber-optic ring. By combining high-speed current control with selectable STG, MTG, or gear encoder feedback, the unit delivers the position and velocity loops required in printing, packaging, and material-handling systems.

The drive is powered from a common DC bus that sits at 670 VDC / 715 VDC, and its current capability depends on PWM frequency; it can supply up to 6.6 Arms at 4 kHz, while continuous demand at 8 kHz is limited to 0.8 Arms. Internal switching and control electronics dissipate a maximum of 96.5 W, and that heat is removed by forced air cooling routed through cabinet ducts. Control logic and I/O draw only 0.89 A from the 24 V service supply, so multiple axes can share a compact power supply. Motion commands enter via the SERCOS setpoint interface, and the drive reports back multi-turn and single-turn position words with 32-bit and 20-bit resolution respectively, enabling tight contour tolerances on host CNC or PLC controllers.

Mechanical integration is simplified by a module height of 430 mm and a slim profile of 50 mm, allowing several drives to mount side by side on a single backplane without airflow obstruction. A mass of 6.0 kg helps keep the module manageable during mounting, while the steel chassis meets DIN rail grounding requirements tied to the IP20 protection class.
