The DM 45K 9301-D servo drive is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the DM Servo Drives series. It is a compact, panel-mounted power module that regulates current and voltage delivered to permanently excited or induction motors used in gantries, packaging lines, and material-handling zones. By processing setpoints delivered through its CAN bus interface, the drive converts a 670 V internal DC link into a finely modulated three-phase output. Resolver feedback is accepted directly, allowing closed-loop speed or position control without additional interface cards.

At a switching frequency of 8 kHz, the drive supplies a continuous closed-loop output of 16.5 Arms, while open-loop peaks reach 35 Arms for short acceleration events. The energy source is a regulated intermediate circuit held at 670 VDC, permitting fast current rise times and low motor cabling losses. Protection against touch and debris corresponds to an enclosure rating of IP20, so installation inside a grounded cabinet is required. Resolver sampling is digitized to an actual position resolution of 12 bits, supporting fine interpolation by the motion controller. CANopen and CANrho protocols carry velocity, torque, and diagnostic frames across the same shielded twisted pair.

The control electronics draw 1.4 A from the external 24 V auxiliary supply, a value that simplifies sizing of cabinet power buses for multi-axis systems. With a module width of 75 mm and a compact mechanical design, multiple axes can be arranged side by side without exceeding the typical 600 mm enclosure depth. Thermal planning must account for a maximum power loss of 205 W; forced-air ventilation is recommended, especially when ambient temperatures exceed 45 °C and derating of 0.5 A/K applies. The aluminum housing weighs 6.7 kg, which helps keep handling manageable up to the permitted altitude of 1000 m.
