The DM 45K 7101-D is a servo drive module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DM Servo Drives series. It is designed to regulate current for synchronous and induction motors. In industrial automation cells, it forms the power stage between a motion controller and the machine’s actuators.

The drive’s intermediate circuit operates at 670 VDC regulated and can rise to 715 VDC non-regulated when fed from an unfiltered supply; this voltage range defines the energy available for motor acceleration and regeneration. In closed-loop mode at 4 kHz, the inverter delivers a continuous current of 23.5 Arms, while open-loop bursts at the same carrier reach 47.5 Arms; those limits determine motor sizing and short-term overload response. Losses generated by semiconductor switching and conduction are capped at 205 W, so cabinet ventilation must extract that heat to keep internal temperatures within specification.

The factory switching carrier is set to 8 kHz, giving a compromise between torque ripple and thermal stress; users can select a reduced 4 kHz rate when higher peak currents are required. Logic electronics draw 1.4 A from the 24 V supply, and control data exchange occurs through the CANrho set-point interface. Encoder feedback is captured with a multi-turn resolution of 32 bits and a single-turn resolution of 20 bits, enabling accurate absolute positioning even though internal positioning control is disabled. The aluminum housing weighs 6.7 kg, stands 445 mm tall, presents a maximum front height of 452.5 mm, and spans 75 mm in width, allowing dense side-by-side mounting. At the higher 8 kHz carrier, the rated closed-loop current is 16.5 Arms and the permissible open-loop peak is 35 Arms, supporting lighter-duty axes where acoustic noise reduction is important.
