The DM 45K 1101-D servo drive is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the DM Servo Drives series. It is installed in control cabinets to convert DC link energy into precisely timed phase currents for synchronous or induction motors used in industrial automation. By interpreting SERCOS motion commands, the unit provides position, speed, and torque control for axes in packaging machines, material-handling gantries, and general machinery.

At an 8 kHz switching frequency, the drive delivers a continuous phase current of 16.5 Arms, enabling sustained torque for medium-duty axes, while transient loads can be covered by a peak value of 35 Arms. The internal bus is regulated to 670 VDC, so both motoring and regenerative energy remain within the permissible voltage window. For every degree above the nominal heat-sink temperature, the available current decreases by 0.5 A/K, which helps limit semiconductor stress. Thermal dissipation tops out at 205 W, so cabinet airflow must be sufficient to remove that heat. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, which protects against finger contact but still requires a clean, dry environment. Control data arrive over the SERCOS interface, a standard incremental encoder port returns position feedback, and the logic consumes 1.4 A from the 24 V auxiliary supply.

The housing measures only 75 mm in width, allowing high-density installation beside other DM modules. The unit weighs 6.7 kg, which allows handling without lifting equipment. The permitted operating range is 0 to +45 °C; beyond that range, the device must be cooled or its output limited. Long-term storage is approved between -25 and +70 °C, functional altitude reaches 1000 m without additional derating, and vibration from 2 to 150 Hz is tolerated by the circuit boards and connectors during factory floor operation.
