Product Description:

The DM 30K 7101-D is a servo drive module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DM Servo Drives series. It converts DC link energy into controlled three-phase output for permanent-magnet or induction motors in production lines and assembly cells. A compact design allows multiple modules to mount side by side inside a control cabinet while the unit interfaces with motion controllers over the proprietary CANrho bus.

The drive draws a control supply of 1.03 A at 24 V to power logic, gate drivers, and internal monitoring circuits. During operation, the intermediate circuit floats at a nonregulated 715 VDC, which is reduced to a regulated 670 VDC when the braking chopper and ballast resistors engage to clamp regenerated energy. The inverter section returns this energy to the motor leads as 3-phase 400 V line-to-line voltage, synchronized to the command frequency supplied through the standard encoder interface. An 8.5 A DC bus input rating indicates the continuous current the module can receive from a shared supply unit, and the CANrho channel allows status words to report actual link voltage, temperature, and fault bits to the master controller.

Current capability changes with switching frequency. With open-loop control at 4 kHz, the module can deliver up to 29 Arms, while closed-loop regulation at the same carrier is limited to 14 Arms to keep IGBT junction temperatures within safe limits. At 8 kHz, those limits drop to 22 Arms and 9.7 Arms respectively. Heat produced by switching events reaches a maximum loss of 156 W, which an air-cooled design removes by directing cabinet airflow across the heat sink fins. The housing stands 430 mm high, so the cabinet must provide vertical clearance while still allowing several units to be stacked on a shallow backplane without exceeding standard enclosure depths.
