The DM 30K 6111-D is a servo drive module built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the DM Servo Drives series. It is intended for cabinet installation where precise one-axis positioning is required because the unit carries an integrated motion function for single axes. By monitoring motor feedback and modulating PWM output, the drive converts DC link energy into regulated three-phase power for synchronous or induction motors used on packaging lines, assembly systems, or material-handling stations.
The internal DC bus is maintained at 670/715 VDC, forming the energy source for the inverter stage. When the switching frequency is 4 kHz, the drive can supply a maximum of 29/21 Arms in open-loop and closed-loop operation. Raising the frequency to 8 kHz lowers the ceiling to 22/14 Arms because of added switching losses. Continuous operation uses rated currents of 5.8/14 Arms at 4 kHz and 3.6/9.7 Arms at 8 kHz. Thermal management uses air cooling, and the device dissipates up to 156 W of heat under full load. To protect components at higher ambient temperatures, current capability drops by 0.24 A/K between 45 °C and 55 °C when operating at 8 kHz. The compact mechanics minimize enclosure depth, and the unit also provides a PROFIBUS-DP interface for setpoints.
The housing is only 50 mm wide, so multiple axes can be lined up with minimal rack space, and the mass of 6.0 kg eases panel handling. Position commands are processed with a multiturn generator resolution of 32 bits, while internal stage feedback is handled at 20 bits, enabling tight interpolation for drive and motor synchronization. Control electronics draw just 1.03 A from the mandatory 24 V supply, leaving power available for I/O and safety circuits. An internal air flow duct channels cooling air through the compact housing, supporting continuous duty without auxiliary cooling hardware.
