The DM 15K 8001-D is a servo drive from Bosch Rexroth Indramat that belongs to the DM Servo Drives series. As a closed-loop power stage, it converts DC link energy in a multi-axis system into three-phase output for synchronous or asynchronous motors. This gives the drive the speed and torque regulation needed in automated machine tools, material handling lines, and packaging stations.

This unit’s 24 V control electronics draw 0.89 A, a value used to size the cabinet’s auxiliary power supply. Position commands enter through an analog interface with 10-bit resolution, which allows 1,024 discrete speed references for fine motion trimming. Internally, the non-regulated DC link sits at 715 VDC, while active regulation stabilizes it near 670 VDC to reduce voltage stress on the semiconductors. When the switching frequency remains at 8 kHz and the ambient temperature rises above 45 °C, current must be reduced by 0.23 A/K. The drive can deliver up to 15 Arms in open-loop tests, while its closed-loop rating for sustained duty is 7.4 Arms. When paired with suitable motors, mechanical output reaches 8.3 kW, supporting mid-power axes such as extruder screws or feeder rolls. Speed follows a U/f characteristic, so the unit can provide scalar control when encoder feedback is unavailable. Setpoints are accepted directly from a frequency inverter link. The module is 50 mm wide, 430 mm high, and weighs 6.0 kg, so it fits a narrow backplane slot and can be handled without auxiliary rigging. No option module slot is provided, which simplifies installation and keeps the configuration limited to the standard interface set.
