The DM 15K 7301-D is a servo drive module built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DM Servo Drives series. It supplies three-phase power to synchronous and asynchronous motors and exchanges motion commands with higher-level PLCs. In automation cells, the drive manages speed, torque, and position control loops, acting as the bridge between the controller and the motor-mounted transducer. Its regulated DC link architecture and resolver feedback capability support precise closed-loop operation in packaging, handling, and assembly lines.

During normal closed-loop operation, the drive delivers a phase-balanced output of 3-phase 400 V. This voltage is modulated over a 4 kHz carrier to produce a programmable frequency range of 0 to 800 Hz, letting the connected motor accelerate from standstill to high speed without mechanical gear changes. Under continuous load, the current remains at 11 A rms, whereas short overload events can be sustained at 18 A rms before protection logic intervenes. Internal IGBT banks draw energy from a DC bus held at 670 VDC regulated / 715 VDC non-regulated and convert it into a controlled motor output, while position feedback arrives through a resolver interface and velocity or torque commands are transmitted over the CANrho setpoint bus.

Power dissipation is 121 W, which helps determine cabinet airflow needs when several modules share the same enclosure. The control electronics require only 0.89 A from the auxiliary 24 V supply, so standby demand remains low compared with the power section. The unit weighs 6.0 kg and measures 430 mm in height, while its 50 mm panel width supports dense installation in control cabinets. The resolver channel digitizes rotor angle at 12-bit resolution, and no supplementary functions are integrated, so application-specific features remain in the master controller.
