The Bosch FWA-ECODR3-SMT-02V20-MS is a firmware for ECODRIVE03 drives. Typical applications for ECODRIVE03 systems are metalworking, automatic handling systems, and packaging and food processing systems. The FWA-ECODR3-SMT-02V20-MS is specifically an application-specific firmware for drives designed for machines tool applications with SERCOS, parallel and analog interfaces. Drives from ECODRIVE03 family are available as eight different units. The units differ in the interface which is used for machine control. ECODRIVE03 controllers are available in 40 Amps, 100 Amps and 200 Amps ratings. Synchronous motors with maximum 48 Nm torque rating and synchronous motors designed for stringent demands having maximum 64 Nm torque rating can be used with ECDRIVE03 controllers. Inappropriate use of the controller or failure to follow the safety instructions recommended by Bosch can lead to equipment damage and injury to personnel.

Only trained personnel should be allowed to work on ECODRIVE03 controllers. Only parts and accessories approved by the manufacturer should be used with the controllers. Safety regulations relevant to the specific applications should be followed as recommended by national and local safety codes. The following is the sequence of steps to be followed when the firmware for the drive is to be replaced: the unit should be switched off, then the programming module should be pulled out, the lock on the back of the programming module should be opened, then the programming module should be opened, the old parameter module should be inserted into the new firmware module, the lock should be closed, the programming module should be inserted and then the unit should be switched on. Firmware for the ECODRIVE03 controllers is not shipped with the drive. It needs to be ordered separately. This unit can be shipped globally with a one-year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
