The DKCXX.3-040-7-FW is an EcoDrive servo drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DKC Drive Controllers series. It regulates power from a shared DC bus to a connected motor, enabling position and velocity control in automated machinery. By converting the internal link voltage to a commanded three-phase output, this controller forms the electronic interface between the motion program and the mechanical axis. That arrangement helps centralize power conversion while allowing each connected axis to receive independent current and motion control.

The unit draws 21 W for its control electronics while the logic circuits are energized by a 24 VDC auxiliary supply. Internally the DC bus is held at 700 V, and the power stage is rated for a continuous output of 40 A. The auxiliary supply keeps command processing and monitoring functions active while the main power section is managed through the shared bus. The inverter can modulate its PWM pattern up to 1000 Hz, producing line-to-line voltages as high as 800 V at the terminals. Continuous thermal losses are limited to 180 W, so cabinet ventilation must dissipate this heat during sustained operation. Design 3 uses a narrow housing that is only 65 mm wide, while the full assembly remains 360 mm tall and 261 mm deep. The unit weighs 5.7 kg, which helps support dense side-by-side mounting in multi-axis racks. It operates at ambient temperatures up to 45 °C at nominal current and can remain in service up to 55 °C with derated output. Airflow clearances of 80 mm below and 150 mm above the heat sink must be maintained so heat can escape without restriction. Adequate spacing is important when the drive is mounted on DIN rails or panels because blocked airflow can reduce available current. The enclosure and upstream protection must be selected for an interrupt capacity of 42000 A RMS so faults can be cleared without damaging the power stage.
