Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DKC22.3-100-7-FW drive controller for the DKC Drive Controllers series. It is an EcoDrive module with series code 22, design version 3, and interface option 22. The aluminum housing is 360 mm high, 105 mm wide, and 261 mm deep, and it weighs 9.7 kg. Installed between a plant bus and a servo or spindle motor, the controller regulates motor current and speed for coordinated motion in industrial automation lines. Its dimensions also support installation in compact control cabinets where multiple axes may share a common power structure.

The inverter stage is connected to a DC bus at 700 V and can switch that energy into a phase current of 100 A. At full modulation, the unit delivers up to 800 V line to line and supports carrier frequencies up to 1000 Hz, which suits high-speed linear motors and precision spindles. Internal semiconductor and braking losses reach 420 W during continuous duty, so cabinet cooling must remove that heat during sustained operation. An integrated soft-start resistor limits inrush current before the main contactor closes. This helps protect the DC link during power-up and repeated start cycles.

The control electronics operate from a 24 V supply and draw 26 W for logic, gate drives, and sensor interfaces. The same auxiliary rail also energizes the soft-start resistor, which is rated at 0.5 kW to handle repeated switching without overheating. Downstream protection is coordinated with a short-circuit withstand rating of 42000 A RMS, allowing the drive to be fused appropriately for the installation. Reliable operation is permitted at ambient temperatures up to 45 °C, and the controller can remain powered at higher temperatures when its output is derated. Using a separate low-voltage supply also allows control functions to remain active during DC bus state changes.
