The DKC05.3-016-7-FW is one of the Rexroth EcoDrive 03 Drive Controllers manufactured by Bosch Rexorth. The drive controller belongs to the 0.5 series and is version 3. Its rated type current is set at 16A and is in voltage category 7. It also features a firmware but this must be ordered separately from the main drive controller. The DKC05.3-016-7-FW drive controller can only be used for Servo Applications, EcoDrive03 drives, ADF main spindle motors, 1MB frameless spindle motors, digital AC motors, AC drive units, linear synchronous direct drives and more. It should not be used for applications outside of those specified by the manufacturer or it will be damaged.

The DKC05.3-016-7-FW drive controller system uses Rexroth IndraDrive capacitors in the DC bus as energy stores. In the supply unit of the DKC05.3-016-7-FW, the capacitor has already been built-in. The energy stores can keep their energy even after the supply of energy has been cut off, and so it has to be discharged before the user gets in contact with them. The discharging device of the DKC05.3-016-7-FW drive controller has been integrated into its components and the devices can discharge the voltage below 50 V within the indicated time. If the DC bus capacitor units or additional capacitors are connected, you have to ensure that they are discharged before someone gets in contact with them.

When installing the DKC05.3-016-7-FW, you have to consider the live parts of the controller and the sizing of the enclosure and control cabinet. For better safety, it also features a holding brake but this is not enough to ensure your safety, so you have to follow the instructions for mounting and use to the latter.
