The Bosch Rexroth DDS03.2-W030-BE09-01 is a digital controller. In combination with compatible motors, it forms high-performance servo systems that are well suited to commercial and industrial applications. The controller operates at 24 Volts DC input. Multiple DDS controllers can work with the same DC power supply. However, DDS controller should only be used with Bosch DC supplies that deliver regulated output. The output rating of the DDS03.2-W030-BE09-01 is 30 Amps. The output derates if the ambient temperature rises above 45 degrees Celsius, or if the elevation is more than 1000 meters. Bosch recommends not operating the controller if the ambient temperature is more than 55 degrees Celsius. Bosch also recommends not operating the controller if the site elevation exceed 5000 meters. The specified limits for absolute and relative humidity at 25 g/m³ and 95%.

The DDS03.2-W030-BE09-01 is a modular controller with five slots for hardware modules. Three of these slots are available for plug in modules. Two slots - U1 and U5 – are reserved for a command communication module and a software module. The command module installed on the DDS03.2-W030-BE09-01 supports SERCOS, which allows data transmission at 2 / 4 Mbps over fiber optic cables. Both the operating parameters and controller firmware are stored on the software module. In case of drive malfunction, operators can easily move the software module to a replacement controller. The controller supports two motor feedback options: digital servo feedback and resolver feedback. The DDS03.2-W030-BE09-01 is offered with heat technology and airflow takes place inside the cabinet. Consequently a large control cabinet and/or air conditioning may be needed for maintenance of ambient temperature. Controllers with heat technology requires comparatively less installation effort. Protection category of the DDS03.2-W030-BE09-01 is IP20.
