Rapid-response drive systems by Bosch Rexroth simplify factory automation in several industries. They are obtained when the intelligent drive controllers of the DDS series are combined with digital AC servo motors such as those in the LAR, MDD, LAF, and MKD series.

The DDS03.1-W030-RA02-01 is a drive controller model in the DDS drive system by Bosch Rexroth. Like others in the DDS series, it is compatible with all Indramat supply units with a 24V DC regulated voltage. The supply unit is usually mounted with it into a control cabinet that does not admit solid extrinsic objects over 50mm. This is why its Ingress Protection rating is IP 10 according to EN 60529. The drive controller is cooled by the heat technology method, where the cooling airflow is within the control cabinet. Consequently, the control cabinet used must be large, and air conditioning may be required at the site of operation. One of the significant advantages of this cooling system is that it requires minimal mounting and installation efforts.

With the ANALOG interface on the DDS03.1-W030-RA02-01, the drive controller can be used in the operation of digital AC servo drives with conventional controls. The plug-in module also has control inputs and signal outputs for its interaction with other control units. Only motors that use Resolver Feedback for position detection can be connected to this motor, and a ready-made Indramat cable can be used for this. The designated DC bus voltage for this device’s operation is 300V with an allowance of ±15%, and its rated current is 30A. All operations with this DDS drive controller must be done at an ambient temperature between 0^oC and 45^oC.
