The Bosch Rexroth drive controllers are designed to control and monitor the operations of electrical motors. This brand manufactures the DDS drive controllers. They have a modular design which makes it possible to flexibly combine them with AC servo and main drives to create a compact package. This compact package uses a single supply unit. When used with servo motors like the MDD, MKD, and LAR AC motors, DDS drive controllers become rapid response drives which are particularly suited for use in machine tools, textile, printing and packaging machines, robotics, and handling machines.

The DDS02.1-W150-DS53-00-FW comprises a basic unit, plugin module, software module, and firmware. The software module contains both firmware and drive parameters. The firmware is ordered as a separate item, and it fixes the functional features of the drive controller. The drive controller has a rated current of 150A, and it is cooled by internal cooling. The motor feedback is via Digital Servo Feedback. It has a SERCOS interface plugin module that offers inputs for evaluating reference switches, travel range limit switches, and sensor inputs. It also uses a fiber optic cable to communicate between the device and other system components.

A closed housing or control cabinet is required to mount the DDS02.1-W150-DS53-00-FW. The IP 10 protection class of the control cabinet means the drive controller is protected against the penetration of solid objects with diameters greater than 50mm but not protected against liquids. It should be operated at an ambient temperature of 40°C, relative humidity of 95%, and a setup elevation greater than 1000m. Also, it should be connected to supply units from Indramat with a regulated DC 24V supply.
