The DDS family of drive controllers is a group of motion control devices designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. They are ideal for different kinds of applications such as robotics, printing and packaging machinery, handling machines, the textile industry, and machine tools. These drive controllers make up the DDS system with digital AC servo motors like the MDD and MKD synchronous motors and the LAR and LAF linear inductance motors.

The DDS02.1-W100-DS45-01-FW is one of the drive controllers in the DDS02 series used to create the DDS system. A rapid-response drive is produced with its combination with compatible synchronous or inductance motors, and the drive package obtained requires just one supply unit. The DDS02.1-W100-DS45-01-FW features a modular build that allows its integration with different kinds of modules to create a configured drive controller suited for application-specific operations. Its plugin module is a SERCOS interface, which enables a fiber optics cable for its connections to other devices.

The mounting of the DDS02.1-W100-DS45-01-FW drive controller in control cabinets is possible because of its compact size. Its cooling method is heat technology, and it works by dissipating heat within the control cabinet. This control cabinet also plays a protective role for the drive controller and has an Ingress Protection rating of IP 10 according to DIN 40 050. It is impermeable to external solid objects with a diameter larger than 50 mm. The recommended DC bus voltage for the operation of the drive controller model is 300 V with a tolerance of ± 15%. It also has a current rating of 100 A and is compatible with motors that use digital servo feedback (DSF).
