The Bosch DDS02.1-W050-DS29-01 is a DDS digital drive controller. It is compatible with MKD / MDD synchronous motors and LAR / LAF linear motors. The motor-drive combination is suited to applications such as robotics, handling machines, printing and packaging machines. The DDS02.1-W050-DS29-01 can be operated with a regulated supply that provides 24 Volts DC output. Dangerous motor movements can occur because of multiple reasons including software error, faulty cabling, incorrect configuration etc. Such movement can occur immediately after commission or after a certain period of time. Several precautions can be taken to prevent injury and equipment damage that could result from such dangerous movements. Some of the precautions are use of fences and coverings, use of emergency-stop switches and use of appropriate monitoring devices. The DDS02.1-W050-DS29-01 is a modular controller. The basic unit of the controller allows installation of plug-in modules.

Digital servo feedback enables the controller to receive motor feedback and control motor operating parameters. The DDS02.1-W050-DS29-01 controller mounts vertically. A minimum spacing of 80 millimeters on the top and bottom sides and 40 millimeters on the front side is recommended by Bosch for proper ventilation. Cooling method for the DDS02.1-W050-DS29-01 is heat technology that uses air from inside the cabinet. Therefore proper cooling requires use of large cabinets and/or air conditioning. Operation and maintenance of the DDS02.1-W050-DS29-01 should be performed by trained personnel only. The use of accessories and spare parts should be restricted to those that have been approved by Bosch Rexroth.
