The Rexroth DDS02.1-W050-DA11-01-FW is a basic unit drive controller. Drive controllers are used to control motors which move machine parts in precise directions and angles. In conjunction with several electric automation motors, a primary unit drive controller can solve multiple automation controlling tasks if a specific option interface is installed onto its drive. The firmware handles the functions of the drive. Applications of the DDS02.1-W050-DA11-01-FW include machine tools, robotics, handling and automation. Proper transport, storage, assembly and installation are prerequisite for the optimal and safe operation of the equipment. The operation and maintenance of the drive controller should be left to trained and qualified personnel. Several risks exist if this equipment is used inappropriately or without following proper safety regulations. There is a risk of bodily injury if there is exposure to live parts with voltages greater than 50 Volts.  There is also a risk of dangerous movement due to incorrect velocity demand, software error or incorrect use of components.

The DDS02.1-W050-DA11-01-FW is a series 02 version 1 drive controller. It is cooled by air from inside the control cabinet solely. It has a rated current of 50 Amperes and a digital servo motor feedback. The drive controller has an ANALOG interface communication module with an absolute encoder emulator. The plugin module makes it possible to operate digital intelligent AC servo drives with conventional controls via an analog interface. The function I.D and function I.D version have been determined and documented by INDRAMAT as 11 and 01 respectively. It has a U1 port found on the bottom left of the drive for command communication modules, U2, U3, and U4 for auxiliary modules and U5 for software modules. It is housed in a casing that is IP20 protected as per EN60529 (IEC529-1989).
